Fall weather please!

I'm looking forward to the MCR concert in October! This dreadful heat is killing me softly.

Lyrics
See the man who stands upon the hill
He dreams of all the battles won
But fate had left its scars upon his face
With all the damage they had done
And so tired with age, he turns the page
Let the flesh submit itself to gravity
Let our bodies lay while our hearts will stay
Let our blood invade if I die in pain
Now, if your convictions were a passing phase
May your ashes feed the river in the morning rays
And as the vermin crawls, we lay in the foundations of decay
He was there the day the towers fell
And so he wandered down the road
And we would all build towers of our own
Only to watch the rooms corrode
But it's much too late, you're in the race
So we'll press and press 'til you can't take it anymore
Let our bodies lay while our hearts will stay
Let our blood invade if I die in pain
And if, by his own hand, his spirit flies
Take his body as a relic to be canonized
Now, and so he gets to die a saint
But she will always be a whore
Against faith (antihero)
Against all odds (as if it must be pure)
Against change (we wander through the ruins)
We are free (the guiltiness is yours)
You must fix your heart
And you must build an altar where it rests
When the storm decays and the sky, it rains
Let it flood, let it flood, let it wash away
And as we stumble through your last crusade
Will you welcome your extinction in the morning rays?
And as the swarming calls, we lay in the foundations
Yes, it comforts me much more
Yes, it comforts me much more
To lay in the foundations of decay
Get up, coward

She's home!

After spending almost a month in the hospital, she has finally returned home! We spent some time doing things around the house and then snipped some of her beautiful hydrangeas to take home. Chloe and I loved our time together as well. It was nice to relax and take a breath before returning home to the chaos and sweltering heat!

Fallen Sandcastles

Missed my ocean wave naps and freezing pool swims with the kiddos. But M* and I survived at home with the critters to keep us company. It's hard being a mama with my heart in two places!

Double Digits!

44 years ago, I was born! I almost arrived on the busy Vegas Strip while my dad urged her to hold off. Finally, at the hospital, she demanded the lights off! I was to be welcomed into a peaceful and blissful world. Her first words were not boy or girl..."What time is it?" My father was hopeful she could push me out in less than an hour (bet was a dinner). She won, and I wiggled through fast.

This year's birthday was anything but peaceful bliss! With Mom in the hospital and family stressors. Chaotic kids, loving animals, and a goofy husband kept me somewhat sane.

Sam won this for me at Bullwinkles, he loves to call me the short Umpa Loompa.

Get well soon!

My heart sank when 2 of the 4 pots the kids made fell off her hospital bed. But then I took a breath and so did she!

My sisters!

What a busy day! After a crappy night of losing our puppy, I visited Mom at the hospital. Then I raced back home with the things MY family needed. But, since it was on the way, I stopped by the dealership Gauge Auto Sales, and asked the boys for donations. They are always so generous! I didn't plan on staying the entire 3 1/2 hours, but it was the fresh air my soul needed!

This meeting theme-
 FREEDOM!

My "Brandy" rose I brought for a fellow sister.

Goodbye baby boy.

"As I write this, our house is so quiet. There is no rushing to potty a little boy (who pees like a girl), no whimpering or barking because I'm on the other side of a door, and no need to make sure food is pushed way back on the island...just silence. However, I did have a mess to clean up this morning as everyone babied Miss Chloe and fed her too many treats while I was gone. Poor girl, we all miss him terribly.

Just because

Sunny guarding the flowers Dane brought me last night.

Kahuna eating said flowers

He's such a little weirdo!

FYI, that is Groot lying next to him. He'll snuggle with him after he's done bathing himself in the window for the world to see.

She's so little!

Yinn & Yang

She's Emo and short, he's happy and tall. Hey, kinda like Dane and I!

Mom's everywhere!

I've shrunk down to 115 recently due to family stress, yet as I sit here in my mom's hospital room I feel guilty that I'm not home. She's been laid up for 5 days, and 4 days ago was one of MY worst days this year. I can't stand the summer heat and the day before she was admitted for pancreatitis pain, there was a cluster of bad events ranging from serious adult kid issues to critters driving me bat sh*t crazy!

I made this sign and taped it to our door leading upstairs because both the puppy and one of our cats pees on the upstairs landing. Those who know our family understand this causes some OCD upsets!

It's a cool 68 degrees in this room and the thought of making the trek back through heated traffic and my foot walking through the front door is daunting. I love my house, family, and critters, but sometimes it feels good to just sit and breathe. Another thing to thank my mom...DINNER is DONE! I snipped some of her famous leftover chili, Dane and I are off the hook for dinner! I just pray that she gets through this and back to being grandma the great!

Poor Carly missing her mom...She hates these long "store trips!"

Happy Birthday Heather Beth & American freedom!

Save my sanity!

I made this sign to remind everyone the hall door leading upstairs remains closed! Sunny the Siamese has her all-time favorite spot up there to leave puddles, and Finn loves to climb the stairs, cry, and paw at the door until I come down to feed him each morning. He's always happy to see me, but the race to feed five critters is a big task on very little sleep! After I get a few cups of coffee, I'm good to go!!!
