Cupid was late

Due to Maddy and Sam being severely ill this February, our annual Cupid hunt at Wenzel Mountain had to wait till March! It was worth the wait, as Ga-Ga and Grandpa spoiled us with an amazing dinner and lots of sweet treats!

Just before the hunt...

Will we be conscious?

We had a blast playing games and mini-golf! The question was... Will Dane and I make it to 2024 awake!?

We also played a round of Put-Put golf!

Harvest Party!

Waiting until the last minute to volunteer, I had only one choice: manning a carnival game. Unsure of myself and walking in costume, I chose putt-putt golf. I was instructed to give one treat only after they had sunk the ball in the hole, but they could try as many times as they wanted. I sneaked in extra treats, as every kid (minus one, a teen) kept trying until the ball was sunk. YIKES, that was a lot of lunging after balls to tee up. I got a great workout! The next day, my quads and glutes burned! It was worth every smile, shy "thank you," and of course seeing Emma having a fun day at school. Trick-or-treating tonight—yikes, that's a lot of sugar for this little one!

Fantasy Trail Halloween Party!!!

When the Wenzel Fantasy Trail closed due to ice storm damage, we had to get creative for Halloween this year. We decided to host a thrilling Halloween party for Sam and Emma's friends, and it turned out to be a fantastic evening.

We transformed the trail into a spooky Halloween adventure, lighting it with candles and leaving clues and riddles for the kids to follow. The trail was an exciting journey filled with flashlights and a sense of adventure, and we managed to avoid the tricky divots underfoot. At the end of the trail, the kids discovered a treasure chest brimming with Hershey chocolates - more sugar for the already hyped-up kids!

The party was a blast, featuring activities like mummy wrapping and fun games that had the kids laughing and having a great time.

Though we missed our traditional public Wenzel Fantasy Trail, this unique Halloween party became a memory the kids will cherish forever.

Christian's 21st Birthday / Easter Sunday!

Poor Christian was sick on his 21st Birthday! So, instead of the usual party time with shots of tequila and puking your guts out the next day, he nursed a bottle of Nyquil. But all is well, this week we all got to celebrate the same way we did shortly after he was born...on EASTER SUNDAY!

Our next family member! I hope!!

God's perfect plan. We met this little boy last night. The lady who met with us said that she was once assaulted while showing her puppies, so she now meets in public places. What is wrong with people these days? Back to happy thoughts...Seeing her smile again, that's what everyone's looking forward to!!!

Spooky!!

Christian is getting IMHO quite talented! He has a photographic memory and currently loves experimenting with color blending. I'm trying to get him to try a college class in painting/art/color WHAT EVER! If not a future career, at least a loved hobby!

WE'RE GOING TO DISNEYLAND!!!

Our first-ever Disney vacation that we paid for and planned by us alone. Our family has been through so much the past IDK 5ish years! It's now our turn to have a nice family vacation with just the 6 of us! It's all thanks to M*! She's been dying to get out of dodge ever since the pandemic hit. Having us all home for a year took its toll on her. I don't blame her; it was a horrible year all the way around! Pandemic, civil unrest in our beloved city and the entire country, my father's death, my trip to Utah, etc. But I think the thing that drove her the craziest was having us all under one roof! Sensory overload for her! So I hope and pray this vacation will be a good reset for this family as we are getting back to a new "normal."
